The West Grinstead & District Ploughing and Agricultural Society have been running their autumn ploughing match for over 125 years, and this year’s show was bigger and better than ever. With a diverse range of different ploughing categories, the show drew in the crowds from across Surrey and West Sussex. Joe Court, having once been U16 British Ploughing Champion, has always taken a keen interest in supporting local shows and meeting a wider audience. With ash dieback becoming ever more present on the countryside landscape, it was a great opportunity to speak with a number of landowners and farmers about how we are able to safely deal with the disease as well as discuss management of private woodlands to ensure their sustainability for the future.
